Summit Parents
A foundation of the Summit Church Kidz Ministry is the unique relationship being built between parents and the leaders. We realize that kids only spend about 40-60 hours per year on average at church. They spend more time with you in the car in any given month! We also found out that a recent Barna study states that children prefer being spiritually trained by their parents! We believe we (the church and the family) can join forces and make an incredible impact on the life of a child. Visit www.orangeparents.org for blogs, helps, and resources on being an Orange Family. Moses recognized this important lifestyle in Deuteronomy 6 as he instructed the family;
"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates." (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)
The Summit is committed to partnering with parents as we teach and disciple children into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ!
Parents may check kids in to their classrooms 15 minutes prior to a service beginning. Parents should pick their kids up within 15 minutes of the service concluding.
Ministry time is comprised of a small group/large group format. The kids worship together and learn their Bible story in large group and then work through applications at home within the context of a small group. Home resources that coordinate with small group time are located on this site.
Parents who are members of The Summit Church serve once every 6-8 weeks in the Kidz Ministry. (more if desired!)
