Each day will involve ministries in different areas of focus and the city. The evening will involve a debriefing time with Kaleo staff to discuss what was experienced and learned, and to explore how we can implement what was learned in the context of Little Rock. Participants must be at least 14 years old. Cost: $450

May – Medical Ministry
September - Medical Ministry
The spring trip will be in May 2013 and is somewhat strenuous. Travel in country will be by canoe and possibly by plane also. The trip will be mainly medical and evangelistic but a medical background is not necessary. We will hold medical and optometry clinics, including provision of donated prescription glasses. In this context we will tell bible stories through translators in the villages. We will sleep in hammocks and bathe in the Suriname river at night. Though the trip is somewhat difficult, it is very rewarding and the people are very appreciative. Cost:

A large focus of this trip will be youth evangelism, including a day camp and evening evangelistic meetings. The trip is scheduled for September 13-20, 2013 Cost: $2100

Engage 221
Engage 221 is a plan for the fall of 2012 to touch the lives of people we already know with the Gospel. Evangelism is simply letting people know that they are loved. This love was proven by Christ on the cross. This love is experienced most powerfully through relationships between believers who truly love each other and care about people who don’t know Christ. This is the heart of the Gospel. With this in mind, we are going to work together as a Body to touch the lives of each other’s friends.

AR Kids Read
As of 2009 almost 47% of 4th grade students in the 3 school districts of Pulaski County were reading below grade level. National Studies indicate that the fundamentals of effective reading are built in the earliest grades and support all subsequent reading achievement and learning. Poor readers are six times more likely to drop out of school, and statistics show that two-thirds of children who cannot read proficiently by the end of the fourth grade will end up in jail or on welfare.
The goal of AR Kids Reads is to have all public school students reading at grade level by the completion of 3rd grade. National studies have shown that the most effective reading teaching method is relationship based one to one. The specific goal of AR Kids Read is to provide tutors for children reading below grade level for a minimum of 30 minutes a week.
